## 1. Overview

The Meta Ads integration uses the Conversions API to send converted leads to Meta. It leverages the `_fbc` and `_fbp` cookies to link converted leads back to their original campaigns and ad interactions.

<Warning>
  **Important:** Leads converted before setting up the integration cannot be sent to Meta. Only leads marked as "Winner" after the connection is established will be transmitted.
</Warning>

## 2. Setup Instructions

### Step 1: Connect Your Meta Account

1. Go to [Octanist](https://octanist.com/) and navigate to **Integrations > Outgoing**.
2. Select **Meta / Facebook Ads**.
3. Under **Account**, select an Ad Account.

   <Note>
     Make sure you have access to the Events Manager and Campaign Manager of the Meta account you want to connect.
   </Note>

### Step 2: Configure Event Mapping

* Under **Mapping**, select the Meta Pixel you want to send data to.
* For **Qualified Leads**: select the event to send to Meta — this is set to `Lead` by default.
* For **Won Leads**: the event sent is `Purchase`.

<Note>
  If you already have a `Lead` or `Purchase` event configured, this is not a problem. Events will be sent to the same event types, but tagged as **Server** or **Physical Store** events.

  In your campaigns, go to **Customize Columns > Leads > Website Leads / Offline Leads** to distinguish between online leads (e.g. quote requests) and offline leads (e.g. in-store purchases). Octanist events will appear under **Offline Purchases** or **Offline Leads**.
</Note>

### Step 3: Set an Internal Name

Give the integration an internal name for your own reference. This is especially useful if you have multiple Meta integrations set up.

## 3. Monitoring Data in Meta

Once the integration is set up, monitor the data flow in Meta by navigating to:

**Events Manager > Data Sources > Your Meta Pixel > Overview**

Check for correct data transmission and review performance metrics to ensure proper tracking and optimization.
